A long, long time ago, not in a galaxy far, far away, but in the woods just down the street from Al’s house, a dog tumbled off a log. Four kids witnessed the event, laughed until they cried, and decided that this moment of canine comedy needed to be captured on film. They bought their first camera, not to document world-changing events, but to chase the next accidental masterpiece. These four aspiring filmmakers quickly began creating short skits, mini-movies, and whatever imaginative chaos they could dream up. The production company that emerged from this youthful obsession was named after the dog that started it all: Kirby.
Fast forward to 2007. One of those kids, Al Liptak, graduated from college and decided it was time to turn Kirby Productions into a “real” video production studio. Starting small with weddings, music videos, corporate shoots, and short horror films (his personal obsession), Al built a foundation of creativity and technical skill. A pivotal moment came when he entered a commercial contest for TommyCar Auto. Winning the contest meant a brand-new car. But Al, true to form, traded the car for the gear that would allow Kirby Productions to reach more clients and tell bigger stories.
Over the years, Kirby Productions has created videos for BOSE, DIGSAFE, IBM, The Elks National Foundation, Vanderbilt University, Cambridge Entrepreneurship Academy, and more. But it wasn’t until a collaboration with Jeremie LaPointe of DementedFX Haunted House that Kirby Productions evolved into the full-fledged creative agency it is today. That first TV spot sparked a partnership where Kirby Productions became DementedFX’s entire marketing and creative department, designing video campaigns for TV, social media, and YouTube, graphics for billboards, flyers, newspapers, and Google ads, and even advertisements for radio, streaming services, and podcasts. From immersive lobby experiences to full-scale haunted house productions, Kirby Productions applied cinematic storytelling to every medium.
Today, Kirby Productions combines a passion for video with a mastery of marketing, helping clients around the globe tell their stories with creativity, professionalism, and impact. Whether it’s a high-concept commercial, a viral social video, or a comprehensive marketing campaign, Kirby Productions creates work that connects, inspires, and entertains, just like Kirby the dog falling off a log once did.
